Green Belt on Transfer Process
As a lifelong learner, getting my Green Belt was a great journey…
Ever since I was a little kid, I have loved to take things apart and figure out how they worked. With my Green Belt project, I was able to put that passion to work and also figure out how to make things better. It was hard for a kid to make a broken TV work again, much less make it better.

Define Phase
Work on defining the problem and establishing and determining who the stake holders are.
Review Phase
Review current process using tools such as the Fishbone Diagram and Process Mapping
Identify Phase
During this phase, solutions were developed and analyzed. Tools such as the benefit effort matrix were used to analyze solutions after working with business partners and stakeholders to determine the costs, benefits, and effort needed to implement the solutions.
After determining what solutions to test, a pilot was developed and subsequently ran for one month.
Validate Phase
During the Validate phase the pilot results were analyzed via tools such as control charts, histograms among others.
Execute Phase
After the right solutions were determined, the solutions were implemented and the project was handed off to the process owners.
Lessons Learned
Going through a very complex and difficult project alone, provided me with lots of opportunities to learn.
Understand stakeholder point of view and navigating disagreements and objections.
Keep talking to users and stakeholders about a project as you never know who you might meet, or what you might learn.
Getting the right data can be difficult, but is vital.
Everyone wants to improve a process until it comes time to change the process
